OUR STORY
Our journey began over 17 years ago, rooted in a deep love for people and a profound appreciation of health, wellness, social enterprise and other social development initiatives. Exposed to both traditional enterprises and social enterprises, as well as traditional mainstream and robust alternative health practices, we realised mega opportunity for social enterprise and astronomical potential for structured preventative health care.
The foundation's preventative care approach is grounded in the Sesotho proverb that says, "ho ipaballa ho molemo ho feta setlhare" – structured prevention is better than cure. This philosophy has guided us in employing comprehensive preventative interventions and strategies, through solid global partnership base, that have consistently delivered remarkable health and wellness outcomes in the past 17 years.
At the core of our mission is a commitment to inclusivity and compassion. We believe that all human lives have the same value of importance and that everyone has the right to be healthy and content.
The foundation operates on the principles of peace, love and solidarity, standing with those who find themselves at the margins of society. We are driven by the conviction that giving is one of the secrets to living and that our level of positive attitude determines our altitude of achievement.
Our original inspiration and guiding lights were our grandfathers, Shoaele and Matobako. Shoaele was a man of remarkable stature and an even greater heart. He embodied generosity and empowerment. As a school principal, he imparted knowledge with dedication, and as a church leader, he taught the Bible with unwavering faith. His passion for everything he did make him a successful entrepreneur, enabling him to give back to the community and alleviate many of life's hardships for those around him. His ever-present smile, like in this photo, reflected the love and benevolence he showed to everyone he encountered.
Shoaele was a paragon of loyalty and integrity, deeply devoted to his wife and family. His presence filled us with immense joy, hope, and confidence. Matobako, also a school principal and church leader, shared twin-like qualities with Shoaele, which fostered their mutual love and respect.
Matobako passed away in 2007, and Shoaele followed in 2009. The legacy of these great men, magnificently supported by their equally extraordinary wives, lives on through their children, grandchildren and countless others they inspired. Their passing marked the end of an era, but their enduring values and noble deeds continue to propel us forward.
